Ipsy Glam Bag Review – January 2015

Did you enjoy your weekend? My daughter’s swim team had their big hosted meet this weekend and I literally spent 8 hours both days at the pool. Now I’m on the couch with a big glass of wine, relaxing and trying to figure out what movie to watch! Have you seen any good movies lately?

On to the post! It’s time for my monthly review of the Ipsy Glam Bag. If you aren’t familiar with Ipsy, it’s is a monthly beauty and makeup subscription where you get five full or deluxe size samples of a variety of products and a cute makeup bag all for $10! You never know what you’ll get and I’ve been lucky to receive a great selection of products almost every month so far. Here’s what I got in mine this month:

Coastal Scents Liquid Eyeliner

I’ve never been a fan of liquid eyeliner. I prefer an eye pencil that glides on. Still, I gave this a try. Even though the applicator is small, I was not able to apply it in a straight line. It dries quickly, which is a plus, unless you make a mistake. I handed over this one to my daughter who loved it. For her it went on flawlessly and her eyes looked great.

MyVerdict:    M’s Verdict:

Hey Honey Take it Off! Exfoliating Honey Peel Off Mask

I have not used a peel off mask in years and was excited to try this one. This product smells great and delivered the promised results. The instructions tell you to apply a light moisturizer before you apply the mask. After 15 – 20 minutes, you peel it off and your skin looks and feels soft and smooth.

Verdict:

LaFresh Eco-Beauty Be Good, Good Day, Day Moisturizer

This anti-aging moisturizer is made with natural ingredients and promises to hydrate your skin and give it a fresher appearance. This product kept my face smooth and moisturized all day. Its lightweight formula absorbed quickly and the cucumber and aloe scent is refreshing.

 Verdict:

Pacifica Natural Mineral Coconut Eyeshadow

There were two shades they selected for the Ipsy bags and I received the Ethereal which is a nude color and a full size product. I initially thought it would be too light, but, once I tried it, I found it to be the perfect shade for everyday. Because it is so light, you could use it as a base or a highlighter. It has a silky finish, has great coverage and does not crease. Somehow, though, it now seems to be missing from my makeup drawer…

Verdict:

Velvet 59 Velvet Rose Lipgloss

This gloss is a nude, cocoa color and was a full size product. I liked the small applicator brush, but it is a bit sticky when you first apply it. After a few minutes, that goes away. It’s sheer formula stays put on your lips.  The only thing I didn’t like was that the rose scent smells faintly like chemicals.

Verdict:
