July Style Budget, Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Haul & Firmoo Giveaway!

I had the most relaxing weekend! We had no plans and with nothing to do, lounging around the house for two days was luxurious! I finally had time to try on the things I ordered from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale and decide what I would keep or send back.

Summer is the perfect time to incorporate bright colors into your outfits and colored shorts continue to be on-trend. My favorite shorts are the 3" chino from J.Crew. They are super comfortable and I love the fit. I prefer bright colored shorts to basic khaki and to keep the outfit balanced, I style them with a neutral or contrasting color. My summer uniform has followed this model and here is what I've been wearing lately.

I recently discovered SheIn (formally SheInside) (see my post here). They have changed their name for a better user experience and Sheinside.com is now Shein.com. They have a amazing selection and unbeatable prices on their on trend pieces for summer. Festival Style

One of the things I miss the most about living in the city were the neighborhood street festivals. Spending a Saturday afternoon at an art fest, trying new foods and listening to live music is the highlight of summer fun! We still go downtown to enjoy these things but it takes a bit more planning now than walking out the front door and hopping on a bus. To help prepare for a weekend in the city, I put together a street style look perfect for a summer festival!

Happiness Boutique Snow White statement necklace with cobalt knotted tee and striped pencil skirt

We all know that wearing a special piece of jewelry or clothing can boost your mood and set the tone for a beautiful day! When the Happiness Boutique asked me to style one of their statement necklaces, it was hard to pick a favorite, but I chose the Snow White Statement Necklace. The white flower design was the perfect contrast to the cobalt and stripes for an effortless summer workwear look!

Paisley Print Kimono

Did you have a great weekend and enjoy your 4th of July holiday? Mine was busy but fun with friends and family, BBQ's and the beach! The best part was we didn't have to drive anywhere to see fireworks! Our new neighborhood has their own fireworks show over the lake!

A kimono has been on my wish list for ages and I've finally jumped on the bandwagon with this paisley print number from Shein! The pattern is stunning and the tassel hem is a playful addition to this boho inspired piece! I love that it's lightweight for easy summer layers and can also double as a cover up at the beach.

Hello Summer! The last several months have flown by and I realized my last budget recap post was back in March. After reviewing my purchases, I was pleasantly surprised that I did not buy anything in April! But,I think I made up for it in May and June. If you have visited my blog before, you know that I while I love fashion, I have a limited budget, and only allow myself $50/month to spend. I've also started adding any money earned from my blog to my budget to give me a little more spending power. Here's how I did in May and June!

May budget $50
Carryover from March $20
Carryover from April $50
Money earned from blog $47
Total budget $167
Total spent $137.50
Under budget $29.50

Independence Day Style

Welcome to the monthly "How I Style It" linkup!

If you are stumped with what to wear this July 4th, you've come to the right place! Today's theme is #patrioticpretties! We would love to see what you are wearing for Independence Day this year! Link-up with us below and be sure to check out all of your hosts posts for some Independence Day outfit inspiration!

July 4th festivities are around the corner and I'm still as excited to see fireworks as I was when I was little girl! I'm ready for picnics, BBQ's and tailgating this coming weekend. What to wear? You don't have to wrap yourself in a flag to show your patriotism. I went back to basics with red, white and blue. I paired my white eyelet shorts with a navy top and added a red statement necklace for an all-American style!
