Longer than a shirt but shorter than a dress, the tunic is a top that can easily go from the office to the weekend. Not only are they comfortable, they work for every body type. They look great with a slim fitting bottom like leggings, skinny jeans or cigarette pants. I received this grey lace trim tunic from Romwe. It's lightweight, soft and I'm loving the grey palette this fall. Today, I kept it simple and created a relaxed weekend look. The edginess of the destroyed jeans mixed with the femininity of the scalloped lace adds a touch of glam to this look.

Review: October Ipsy Glam Bag

Last month I skipped reviewing my September Ipsy bag and reviewed my Julep Maven Box instead (see my review here). This month I'm back on track and am ready to review the October Ipsy Glam Bag. If you aren't familiar with Ipsy, it's is a monthly beauty and makeup subscription where you get five full or deluxe size samples of a variety of products and a cute makeup bag all for $10! This month's theme was Alter Ego and the products came in a little metallic gold bag. Some of you have asked what I do with all of the bags. I've been reusing them as fun gift card holders!

One of the things I like the most about Ipsy is the deluxe sample sizes and discovering endless beauty brands. I've had this service for almost a year and a half now and I'm debating on trying something new. If you have any suggestions, please let me know in the comments!

Here's what was inside the October Glam Bag:

Review: CaseApp Personalized iPhone Case

My iPhone goes everywhere with me. I use it for email, lists, photos, videos and of course social media. I like to have a phone case that not only protects my phone but also has some personality and stands out. Caseapp.com is an online company where you can design and customize phone cases, laptop skins and iPad covers.

The ordering process was easy. Just select your device type and browse through their designs. Even better, you can upload your own photo(s) then add text, clipart or backgrounds to create a case that is unique to you! I love New York so I picked the the Empire State Building for the background and then added an anchor in the bottom corner. The anchor is a symbol of hope and is one of my favorite shapes.

With the holidays quickly approaching, a customized phone case or laptop skin would be a unique gift for someone who is hard to buy for! Delivery was fast. My case arrived at my front door about 10 days after I placed my order.

Duster Cardigan

Worn by horsemen in the late 19th century, dusters were full length canvas coats. Fast forward to 2015 and they have been revamped as a long knit cardigan. This flowing piece has an easy, boho vibe and it's a fun alternative to a regular cardigan. The longer length, falling between the knee and ankle, is unexpected and can completely change up a look. Dusters are easy to style. Wear it with leggings or skinny jeans or take the look up a notch and style it with a skirt or dress and over the knee boots. Dusters are the perfect way to extend the wear of your summer tank tops! I wanted to create a girls night out look and styled my duster with a printed layered tank, leather leggings and booties. I added a few boho inspired jewelry pieces and was ready to head out the door! What do you think of this trend?

Fall & Halloween Home Tour

You need to read this post if you are looking for fall home decor ideas!

Halloween is one of my favorite holidays to decorate for! I always incorporate fall decor along with the Halloween so I'm all set through Thanksgiving. Every year we come up with a scary scene for our yard to make trick or treating more fun. Since we moved this past spring I decided to stick with a graveyard theme this year. The inside of our home is not as decked out as much as I'd like. I'm missing a bin with half of my indoor fall and Halloween decorations (insert frown face)! I've looked everywhere and now I'm just hoping they got mixed up with Christmas bins and didn't mistakenly go to Goodwill!

Stripe Dress Three Ways

A stripe dress is another must have closet staple. It had been on my wishlist for awhile and I finally found this grey and cream Top Shop number at the Nordstrom Anniversary sale over the summer. I've been wearing it non-stop and today I wanted to show you how versatile this piece is for fall! Layers are the easiest way to transition a piece from season to season. Mixing closet staples and adding a few statement pieces like a belt, scarf or necklace completely gives your outfit a new look!

Chambray is the perfect layering piece for any season. For this outfit, I layered it over the dress and added a bow belt for interest. Riding boots and simple jewelry completed the look.

Three Easy Home Decor DIY's for Fall & a Linkup!

Can you believe we are already half way through October? I've finally finished up my fall and Halloween decorations and will be sharing my fall home tour next week! For today, I have three cute and easy fall DIY's to share with you. Most of the supplies were purchased at Dollar Tree. I always go there first to see what they have before going to Hobby Lobby or Michael's. They usually have similar things and everything is only $1! Here we go!

Back to Basics

Today's look is all about going back to basics. A black blazer, striped shirt, cargo pants and flats are wardrobe staples that I can rely on season after season. These pieces mix easily with almost everything in my closet. When I'm stumped with what to wear, their versatility lets me put together easy outfits that always look new! Accessories always take a basic look up a notch. All I need is an interesting necklace or statement piece to make the look stand out! What are you basic go-to's?

Burnt Orange Asymmetrical Tee

Welcome to the monthly "How I Style It" linkup!

This month's theme is #fallingleavesfashion! We would love to see how you are styling fall's color palette! Link-up with us below and be sure to check out all of your hosts posts for some fall fashion inspiration!

With summer officially over, fall's earth tones have taken over fashion. The biggest color trends this season are burnt orange, olive green, oxblood or wine (see my post here), golden yellow or mustard and midnight blue. Today's look is all about burnt orange. This rich warm color instantly reminds me of fall. I shopped my closet and decided on this burnt orange asymmetrical tee. This deep pumpkin hue pairs great with neutrals so I styled it with grey cargo skinnies and a printed scarf to complete the look. What's your favorite color trend for fall?

Ombre Nail DIY and Julep Maven Review

Have you heard of Julep? Julep is a beauty subscription service with an emphasis on nails but they also have makeup, tools and skincare. I gave this subscription a try a few months ago and since I've been hooked! Julep offers polish colors that range from classic to unique. The polishes have oxygen technology for fast-drying and long-lasting results, no harmful toxins and they are not tested on animals. Fun fact: all of the polish colors are named after cool women!

If you are not a subscriber, you can get a welcome box for free, just pay $2.99 for shipping. If you want to continue, the cost is $24.99/month, but if you order a three month subscription, the price drops down to $19.99/month and shipping is free. Subscribers also receive 20% off and earn points towards product rewards.

Each box contains $40 worth of polish colors and/or products. You receive either 3 polishes, 2 polishes and a beauty product, or 2 beauty products per month. One of the things I love about this subscription is that you can customize it to your liking by picking exactly what you want by swapping out products. You also have the option to skip a month or send your box to a friend!

Here's what I got in my box this month:

Wine Cardigan

Fall has officially arrived and my sweaters and boots have come out of hiding. Hues are shifting from summer brights to fall's deep rich earth tones. One of my favorites is Marsala. Wine, oxblood, burgundy...no matter what you call it, this deep red shade is still going strong and I can see why. The rich color is bold yet versatile. It can be paired with almost any other color combo to add warmth to an outfit. This cardigan from SheIn was just what I was looking for to layer over a top on a chilly fall day and for less than $30, you can't beat the price! I can also see wearing it belted over a skirt with tights and booties for work or layered over a sweater with my Hunters for a cozy weekend look. What is your favorite fall hue?
