I try to wait for sales and rarely buy anything at full price. If it's meant to be, my size will still be there. Case in point with these cute pink Rich & Skinny jeans. A few years ago I was in Nieman Marcus with my girlfriend and was obsessed with them but not with the $198 price tag. A month later, I checked their website and they were on sale but not enough of a discount for my budget. I kept checking and finally with a 30% off clearance promotion I got them for $29!  They've been in heavy rotation ever since. See how I styled them here, here and here.

I enjoy shopping so while I've always been curious about Stitch Fix, I didn't think it would be for me because it would take away from something I like to do. Still, I do like the element of surprise of what you get in your box so I thought I'd give it a try!

If your not familiar with Stitch Fix, it's a personal shopping service that shops for you and delivers five pieces of clothing and/or accessories to your door. You can schedule your deliveries monthly or whenever you choose. The charge for the monthly styling fee is $20. If you decide not to keep anything, you send it back in a prepaid envelope and are charged the styling fee. If you keep one or more pieces, the $20 styling fee is credited towards your purchase and if you purchase all five pieces, you receive a 25% discount. You can check out Stitch Fix yourself by clicking my referral link here.

Here's what I got in my first Stitch Fix box:

#1 Jes Keyhole Blouse $48
#2 Mavi Freida Skinny Jeans $98

Laundry Closet Makeover

Did you have a good weekend? We had near springlike weather again but I was not able to enjoy it due to my daughter and I coming down with severe cases of the stomach flu. I'm feeling better now but am really behind on responding to your comments and visiting your blogs. I hope to get caught up soon!

Tile Photo Coasters

I'm always looking for ways to brighten up a room with small details. We've had our coasters in our living room for years and I've been wanting some new ones. Instead of hitting the home decor shops, I thought it would be fun to make them myself using the photos from our trip to Saugatuck last summer. This is a quick and easy DIY and costs less than $5 to make.

February Ipsy Review

I checked out a few new beauty subscription services (here) but I decided to stay with Ipsy for now. I love the variety of brands and products and the majority are deluxe samples that I use, not throw in a drawer every month. If you aren't familiar with Ipsy, it's is a monthly beauty and makeup subscription where you get five full or deluxe size samples of cosmetic and beauty accessories in a cute makeup bag all for $10! The February theme was Pretty in Pink, which also happens to be one of my favorite 80's films. The beaded bag with the heart is so cute and will be repurposed as a gift card holder.

Here's what I got in my bag this month:

MOR Emporium Classics Hand & Body Lotion in Candied Vanilla
This rich hand cream kept my hands moisturized without feeling greasy. It smells great and the warm vanilla scent was light and not too strong.
Verdict:

Naked Cosmetics Mica Pigment
Pigments are a fine loose powder and the main ingredient in eye shadow. I received the Sierra Nevada, an expresso brown shade. I've never tried pigments before and was worried that it would be a disaster but I found it was easy to apply. I shook a small amount into the cap and then used a flat eye shadow brush to pat onto my eyelid and then blended in. I was really happy with the results and will definitely be using this sample up.
Verdict:

Luxie Beauty Small Tapered Blending Eye Brush
Brushes can be pricey so I'm always excited when there's one included in the bag! I used this to blend the mica pigment above. The bristles are soft and blends shadows well.
Verdict:

Chella Lipstick Pencil
After wearing dark plums all winter, the Passionate Pink shade is a nice shade and perfect for spring! It's smooth and creamy, easy to apply and long lasting.
Verdict:

Smashbox Cosmetics Photo Finish Primer Oil
I've been curious about primer oils and was excited to try this product. It feels greasy when you first apply it, but after it absorbs, your skin glows, feels smooth and your makeup glides on. The downfall is that you need to wait 5 - 10 minutes for the product to absorb which doesn't work on days I'm rushed. I'm giving it a thumbs up and was glad to try this but am not sure yet if I would purchase as my primer.
Verdict:

What did you get in your Ipsy Glam bag this month?
