This is a really sensible rule for travelling. I used to take too much of everything but now I'm a bit better at editing what I pack. I find heels uncomfortable now so I stick to flats or low wedges. I usually travel in trainers and take flat sandals and my wedge espadrilles in neutrals/metallics which go with just about everything. I love your crochet romper and the shirt dress! This is such a great rule!! I don't take a lot of trips, but I'd definitely follow this rule next time. I am all about not packing more than I need, but always worry if I'll have everything I need and then overpack, haha. I love seeing your pretty outfits here and your shoes worked out perfectly!! This is such a great rule for packing. Will be trying it out this fall. I tend to wear my boxier/bulkier shoes for travel and then stick my lighter, easier to pack shoes in my suitcase. You are right, half the time I don't wear everything I have packed – clothes or shoes.

I've always said that you should start your packing planning with shoes.
I think this works for all kinds of trips but I will say that for our week long trips.I might take four pair. LoL

This is brilliant! I always want to bring a pair of heels, but every time I've done that I haven't worn them (too far of a walk, just tired and don't want to bother with heels, etc.).
