One thing I have noticed is that reorganizing my closet a little helps and that the switching out of clothes in between seasons helps me reassess things. This year, everything I pulled out and put away was a winner which is really nice. However I did realize that there are some earrings I do not wear anymore at all. I might put them away for a while and see if I miss them and if I do not, they may end up given away.

I needed to ‘hear’ this. So often, I buy a piece of clothing just because it will ‘work well’ with something I have already. But I never think beyond that one look. I like the idea of thinking about a mini-capsule built around a new piece. And refreshing old favorite pieces. I have begun taking a critical look at tee shirts, especially, and replacing those that are faded or just look exhausted!! Thank you for this great advice.

I have so many clothes, and I really do need to get rid of some of them. But, then I think, “What if I change my mind and want it back?” For so many years, I bought classic basics so I have lots of plain colored cardigans and the like. I think, at some point in my life, I may want those again. They’re of such good quality…much better than what I could buy today. And, since I have the room, I keep them. Perhaps, the answer to my particular problem is to store them away until the time comes that I feel I need them. I don’t know. I love the idea of changing out accessories. That’s an easy one. A scarf of a different color can make such a difference. Thanks for making me really think, Jill!
