September Ipsy Glam Bag Review

Happy Friday!  Have you heard of Ipsy? It's is a monthly beauty and makeup subscription where you get full or deluxe size samples of a variety of products and a cute makeup bag. Ipsy sends out different variations of the glam bag each month. Here's what I got in mine in September:

Pacifica Natural Waterproof Eye Pencil
I received the fringe color which is a rich brown. My go to eyeliner is the Urban Decay 24/7 pencil and while the Pacifica was easy to apply and glided on my eyelid easily enough, I don't know if I would make the switch.  I'm giving it a thumbs up because it's a good back up!
Verdict:

Be a Bombshell Smooth Criminal Powder
This power is white but when you dust it on your face, it's translucent and gives your skin a matte finish. It's great for setting your makeup or getting rid of any shine.
Verdict:

Briogeo Deep Conditioning Mask
This product smells great. My hair did feel smoother and looked shinier after using it. I don't ever use hair masks so I have nothing to compare it to, but overall I was happy with the results.
Verdict:

Cailyn Tinted Lipgloss
This gloss is super pigmented.  I liked the neutral color but not like the applicator. The gloss did not apply evenly and was streaky.
Verdict:

Sally Hansen Miracle Gel
This was probably my favorite product this month.  Nail polish usually only lasts a day for me before it starts chipping. I swiped my nails with two coats of the polish and added the top coat while they were still tacky. This product delivered! My polish lasted over 3 days and it was easy to remove. The color is more summery but I will be buying more colors!
Verdict:

What did you get in your Ipsy Glam bag this month?

  5. Yay! The thumbs up and thumbs down signs are back!! I am wondering with that translucent powder if it will show up white in photos? I have seen this happening to girls recently with their powder! Anyway, I'm having GREAT luck using just the Sally Hansen Miracle Gel top coat over my regular polishes. Like you, normal polish only lasts a day on me. I get about 3 days with the top coat over my Essie polishes, which is pretty much a miracle! If you don't want to buy more of the SH colors, you should just try the top coat over your regular colors! It might not last quite as long but it can't hurt to try!

  7. So is the Sally Hansen product a top coat? Like a gel? I may need to pick this up! My nail polish lasts around three minutes!! ;) Susan

    1. It came as a set but I think you can purchase them separately. The top coat works like a gel and is activated by natural light. You don't have do do anything after you apply it. Like Gina mentioned, you can probably just try the top coat with your regular polish. I'm going to try it.

  11. I got my first Ipsy glam bag this month and I hate to read that you didn't like your lip gloss, because I LOVE mine! When I first saw the color, I didn't think I was going to like it, but it ended up going on a totally different color! I do agree about the applicator though. So far, this is the only product I've tried from my bag.

  12. Fun products! I haven't tried Ipsy because I get Glossybox - but this is much less expensive, so maybe I'll make the switch and see how I like it!

  20. Wish I was in the states to try out some of these fun beauty and clothing mail services. The waterproof pencil & deep-conditioning mask sound great. Looking forward to seeing all of your Outfits from the Fall Challenge, also. =)

  21. I got the deeper red color in that lip gloss and I absolutely loved it! I wonder if the difference is something to do with the color pigmentation. Also, that nail polish is amazing! Once again, I got a darker color than you (Red Eye), but I'll definitely be buying more as well! Have you tried the top coat over normal nail polish yet?
