January Ipsy Glam Bag Review - Doused in Pink - a fashion and lifestyle blog

January Ipsy Glam Bag Review

Did you enjoy your weekend? My daughter's swim team had their big hosted meet this weekend and I literally spent 8 hours both days at the pool. Now I'm on the couch with a big glass of wine, relaxing and trying to figure out what movie to watch! Have you seen any good movies lately?

On to the post! It's time for my monthly review of the Ipsy Glam Bag. If you aren't familiar with Ipsy, it's is a monthly beauty and makeup subscription where you get five full or deluxe size samples of a variety of products and a cute makeup bag all for $10! You never know what you’ll get and I’ve been lucky to receive a great selection of products almost every month so far. Here's what I got in mine this month:

Coastal Scents Liquid Eyeliner
I've never been a fan of liquid eyeliner. I prefer an eye pencil that glides on. Still, I gave this a try. Even though the applicator is small, I was not able to apply it in a straight line. It dries quickly, which is a plus, unless you make a mistake. I handed over this one to my daughter who loved it. For her it went on flawlessly and her eyes looked great.
My Verdict:    M's Verdict:

Hey Honey Take it Off! Exfoliating Honey Peel Off Mask
I have not used a peel off mask in years and was excited to try this one. This product smells great and delivered the promised results. The instructions tell you to apply a light moisturizer before you apply the mask. After 15 - 20 minutes, you peel it off and your skin looks and feels soft and smooth.
Verdict:

LaFresh Eco-Beauty Be Good, Good Day, Day Moisturizer
This anti-aging moisturizer is made with natural ingredients and promises to hydrate your skin and give it a fresher appearance. This product kept my face smooth and moisturized all day. Its lightweight formula absorbed quickly and the cucumber and aloe scent is refreshing.
 Verdict:

Pacifica Natural Mineral Coconut Eyeshadow
There were two shades they selected for the Ipsy bags and I received the Ethereal which is a nude color and a full size product. I initially thought it would be too light, but, once I tried it, I found it to be the perfect shade for everyday. Because it is so light, you could use it as a base or a highlighter. It has a silky finish, has great coverage and does not crease. Somehow, though, it now seems to be missing from my makeup drawer...
Verdict:

Velvet 59 Velvet Rose Lipgloss
This gloss is a nude, cocoa color and was a full size product. I liked the small applicator brush, but it is a bit sticky when you first apply it. After a few minutes, that goes away. It's sheer formula stays put on your lips.  The only thing I didn't like was that the rose scent smells faintly like chemicals.
Verdict:

What did you get in your Ipsy Glam bag this month?

  10. The only subscription box I currently get is Rocksbox, which I'm loving. It's so fun to get a new box each month. For only $10 a month, I may have to give Ipsy a try, it looks like fun!

    Have a great Monday.

  13. Another good IPSY bag. I have that eyeshadow and really like it. Know what you mean about liquid eyeliners. They can be tough to apply. I am still learning, and practicing. :) Which movie did you end up watching? I just had a movie night with my daughter, always so fun. Happy Monday! Xoxo, Elif

  16. The only movie I've seen in months was "Into The Woods", and I really liked it. I'll be at swim meets all week too! Great stuff in your Ipsy bag this month.

  17. Every month I do the same assessment, was it worth it, and yes it so far always has been. Although I'm beginning to wonder what to do with all of the products I don't use?! I got that same face cream and have been debating on using it...I have such sensitive skin that I don't want to use something that might make it react...so it just sits in my drawer. I got the eyeshadow too, but haven't used it yet, but it looks like a great color!

You got a few different products than I did... I think we got the same exact bag last month. I really like the eco-beauty, too! I think you got the same shade in the coconut eye shadow as me, I was excited that was a full size product! I really wanted the liquid eyeliner, but I haven't purchased liquid eyeliner... ever... so, I would be a little worried that I'd mess it up, too!

  20. I got the moisturizer too and I really have been enjoying it! and the Pacifica eyeshadow is super hard to get on the brush and then on to the eye. It tends to get loose and go all over my face! Love this post
