So Choix Beauty Box Review

Hey everyone! Did you have a good week and weekend? We came back from vacation on Thursday night and spent Friday evening at my Mom’s visiting with my cousin whom I have not seen in several years! Then, I spent the rest of the weekend refinishing my kitchen table! It’s been on my to-do list for over a year and checking that one off made me so happy! Speaking of happy, I am so grateful forJennieandLeehelping me with guest posts last week! I hope that you enjoyed them!

I’m a minimal makeup girl, but I do love trying new beauty products. I was recently introduced to So Choix (Choix, pronounced Shwaa is French for choice), a new online beauty counter where they are merging the experience of in store beauty shopping with the best parts of online shopping!

So Choix is not your ordinary subscription box. Instead of getting a selection of random samples that might end up sitting in a drawer, you pick the samples of high end makeup, perfume and nail polish you would like to try! They are measured out from the full size product and packaged in a sample jar or tube. Definitely more hygienic than samples at the makeup counter! You get brushes and applicators in your sample box as well! They say the sample size is typically for one regular use but mine actually lasted for several applications!

Here’s what I picked for my So Choix sample box:

Marc Jacobs Undercover Perfecting Coconut Face Primer (full size price $44)

You only need a small pea size amount. It initially felt heavy but once absorbed felt lighter and gave my skin a luminous and smooth base.

Verdict:

Marc Jacobs Remarcable Foundation (28mj) (full size $55)

This is a full coverage foundation and a little goes a long way. The shade was the perfect match to my skin and it applied best with a beauty blender vs a brush. This was too heavy for my liking. I’m going to stick with my tinted moisturizer and BB cream.

Verdict:

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush (ethereal glow) (full size $38)

This blush gave me a natural pink glow. I would definitely purchase the full size product.

Verdict:

Kevin Aucoin Eyeshadow Duo (cool tan/ruddy earth) (full size $42)

Neutral, everyday shades that swatched better than they applied. You definitely need a primer as it only lasted a few hours without.

Verdict:

Chanel Rouge Coco Lip Color (vera) (full size $37)

This lip color is not very pigmented but is a pretty pink color. It matched my natural lip color, but better.

Verdict:

There are two ways you can try So Choix. First is a-la-carte where you can sample any product they carry for $5 each. This turns into $5 credit towards the full size product. The second is a subscription for $15/month. You’ll pick the products you’d like to try and you are sent the top 5 product samples in your queue. You can also purchase additional samples for $3 each. Additionally, you will earn 250 points a month that equates to $5 store credit with no expiration date that you can redeem towards product!

So Choix is one of my favorite beauty subscription services right now. I love that you not only get to pick the exact product you’d like to try, but the shade too! It really helps you narrow down your choices if you are in search of new products. What do you think about So Choix?
