Hello Summer! The last several months have flown by and I realized my last budget recap post was back in March. After reviewing my purchases, I was pleasantly surprised that I did not buy anything in April! But,I think I made up for it in May and June. If you have visited my blog before, you know that I while I love fashion, I have a limited budget, and only allow myself $50/month to spend. I’ve also started adding any money earned from my blog to my budget to give me a little more spending power. Here’s how I did in May and June!

May budget $50

Carryover from March $20

Carryover from April $50

Money earned from blog $47

Total budget $167

Total spent $137.50

Under budget $29.50

I’m pretty happy with what I got in May! Every pair of shorts in my closet were solid colors and it was fun to add a little variety with fun summer prints. My most expensive purchase was the Lush maxi dress that I bought for my daughter’s graduation and the Everly top. Each were almost a month’s budget, but I know I’m going to wear them all of the time. I made a pact with myself to not purchase any more t-shirts and the floral top is something that will take me through summer and fall.

June budget $50

Carryover from May $29.50

Money earned from blog $46

Total budget $125.50

Total spent $132

Over budget $6.50

I know, I know…I just said I made a pact not to buy anymore tees! In my defense these are a little nicer than a graphic tee and they will be perfect to layer in the fall and winter. I couldn’t resist the espadrilles! It’s nice to have another option besides sandals to wear in warm weather. The jeans were in my Nordstrom shopping bag for quite some time and when they were finally marked down below $50, I jumped on it! Bottom line, I was over budget and will have to make sure I’m back on track in July.

Did you stick to your budget this month?
