I’ve been obsessing about having a bar cart in my dining room ever since I saw Carrie’s back in November. It’s not in my budget to purchase one, so I decided to make my own. I got the idea to use vintage suitcases here. I had two that once belonged to my grandparents that I had re-purposed as a nightstand in the guest room. I used the larger suitcase to create a wine station.
I covered a sturdy box with printed paper and used it to raise the bottom of the suitcase. I found this cute tray at TJ Maxx during the holidays and other than the Christmas tag line, it’s just the right size to hold a few wine glasses. I lined it with the same paper, making it appropriate for all seasons.
I found a distressed black frame packed away and it was just what I needed for a chalkboard wine quote printable. If you want this free printable for yourself, I found it here. I added a tea towel, a little dish with some mixed nuts, wine tools and of course, wine!
A Dinner Without Wine is Like a Day Without Sunshine…how true! We received this wine coaster as part of a wedding gift years ago.
My wine station is staged appropriately under my Michael Godard Nervous Grapes piece in my dining room!
I loved how it turned out! Now time to have a glass of wine and figure out what I can use to make a new nightstand for the guest room!
