How to Bring Spring into Your Wardrobe
Happy Friday Eve! As I write this, I’m on an 850-mile road trip with my husband. We’re driving out to Rhode Island to give our daughter the car and then flying back on Sunday. She got a job and will be staying out there this summer. I’m super excited for her, but it’s also a strange feeling that she won’t be coming home at the end of April. How did you handle it when your kids didn’t come home from college for the first time in the summer?
Tips to Bring Spring Into Your Wardrobe
Anyway, it’s been a balmy 67 degrees the past 2 days in Chicago. So, I thought for today’s post, I’d talk about how to bring spring into your wardrobe. Transitioning doesn’t have to be complicated. Just pick your favorite layering pieces and build from there.
Spring Layering Pieces
While we can’t wait to put away our winter coats and scarves, outerwear is still a must while we wait for consistent spring weather. Jean jackets, moto jackets, and lightweight cardigans are all great spring toppers.
Spring Transition Colors
Mix lighter colors, pastels, and florals with your best-loved winter staples. Add a layer, like a button-up or a sweater, over or under your dresses. Bring out your light wash and light-colored jeans. I wear my white jeans year-round but I definitely pull them out now!
Shoes to Take You From Winter to Spring
When it’s too cold to wear sandals, and you are tired of wearing boots, opt for ballet flats or loafers. Spring’s brighter color palette is refreshing and a mood booster after the long cold winter. Look for a pair of flats in a fun spring color.
How I Brought Spring Into My Outfit
I planned my spring look around these vibrant blue loafers. And I knew I wanted to incorporate Pantone’s yellow too. The result is a fresh spring look that keeps me cozy if the temps dip.
