What do you think of monochrome outfits? You know, wearing head-to-toe different shades of one color? At first thought, it may seem challenging to pair pieces with similar colors. But, monochrome outfits are simple to put together and actually make getting dressed effortless. Here are my tips on how to slay a monochrome outfit.

While monochrome refers to a color scheme that consists of variations of one color, you don’t need pieces in the same exact shade. Start with neutrals and pick out pieces in your closet with similar colors. Think white, tan, taupe, cream, camel. These are the perfect base to build your outfit on.

Start by wearing lighter hues of your color grouping on top. Try incorporating texture or patterns to add depth and interest. Finally, add a pop of color with your shoes or accessories. Follow this formula for a no-fail way to elevate your everyday look!

To slay this monochrome outfit, I started with my stone grey wide-leg pants for today’s outfit, paired them with a white button-up, topped with a cream cable knit vest. Then I added my cowhide booties and my Teddy Blake Stella Vitello light blue bag for a pop of color.
