Do you decorate your porch and outdoor space seasonally? Now that we are in our new home, I couldn’t wait for September to roll in so I could pull out the pumpkins and decorate for fall. We’ve always had pretty good size porches, but this one is on the smaller side. Nevertheless, it doesn’t matter if your patio is small or large; you have a veranda, balcony, or stoop, you can still add autumn touches to give your home a cozy and inviting vibe. Here are some simple tips for small porch fall decorating.

How I Gave My Tiny Porch all the Fall Feels

Pumpkins and Mums

Adding plants and pumpkins is an inexpensive way to get in the fall mood. I like to start decorating by picking up a few pumpkins and potted mums and then build from there. Because my porch is so small, I picked two of each.

Garland and String Lights

My garland is from either Hobby Lobby or Michaels, and I’ve been reusing it for years. I have orange string lights intertwined throughout the spray. It’s secured to my doorframe with small finishing nails.

Hang a Door Wreath

Layer Your Doormats

Layered doormats have been on trend for a few seasons. It’s a simple way to add personality with a mix of patterns and textures. I keep my buffalo plaid rug up year-round and change up the coir rug on top.

Accessorize

I have a few outdoor accessories that I reuse and decorate each season. My vintage Pepsi crate and mini wagon are flea market finds. The flowers and garden planters are from Dollar Tree, and my lanterns are from a local garage sale. You can find inexpensive wood box signs at Home Goods.
