Therabody Smart Goggles Review

I received the Therabody Smart Goggles as a birthday gift from my husband last year because I wasn’t sleeping well. I think he came across them in the United Airlines catalog on the plane, of all places. He knew I needed help unwinding, and after reading reviews, thought this was a great solution. At the time, I didn’t know what to expect and hadn’t even heard of them before. I figured I’d try them and see what happened. Over a year later, I’m still using them. With a renewed focus on wellness this year, I wanted to share my Therabody Smart Goggles review.

What are Therabody Smart Goggles?

The goggles are a heated, vibrating eye mask designed to help with eye strain, tension, headaches, and stress using massage, heat, and vibration. They connect via Bluetooth to the Therabody app.

The app includes preset sessions for sleep, relaxation, focus, stress reduction, and guided meditation. You can choose routines based on benefit, session length, or music style. It’s straightforward and doesn’t require much effort to get started.

How I Use The Therabody Smart Goggles

I don’t use the goggles every night, but I reach for them regularly. I use them when I know I’ll have trouble falling asleep, when I’m stressed, or when I feel a headache starting. I also use them during the workday as a break after long stretches on my computer.

15-Minute Sleep Routine

The 15-minute sleep routine is the one I use most. I turn to it a few times a week. It’s a gentle massage that helps me wind down. You can customize each session by turning the heat on or off and adjusting the vibration level. By the time the session ends, I’m usually drifting off. Even after removing the goggles and turning them off, I fall back asleep immediately.

For Focus and Headaches

I also use the 15-minute focus routine when I’m stressed or dealing with a headache. The combination of heat, vibration, and massage helps relieve tension around my eyes and temples, where I tend to feel it most.

Using the Smart Goggles for Guided Meditation

I’ll be honest, I’m not someone who sits down to meditate regularly. What I do use, though, are the guided meditation sessions built into the Therabody app, especially on days when I feel overstimulated or mentally scattered.

The guided meditation routines combine light massage and optional heat with audio guidance, which makes it easier for me to stay focused. I don’t feel like I have to “do meditation right” or clear my mind completely. I just close my eyes and follow along.

They’re especially helpful when I’ve been on screens too long or feel keyed up but not physically tired. Even a short session helps me slow down and shift gears before moving on with my day.

Final Thoughts

After using the Therabody Smart Goggles for over a year, the biggest thing is that I still reach for them when I need help winding down. They haven’t ended up in a drawer or been replaced by something else. They’re easy to use, especially for sleep, stress, and headaches. If you use anything similar for sleep or stress, I’d love to know what’s worked for you.
