Cooler temperatures mean pumpkin lattes, candy corn, football and comfy sweaters. It's time to say goodbye to sandals and hello to booties!
We recently cleaned out closets around here and with that, I did a closet inventory to determine what I really needed to add to my wardrobe for fall. Next to sweaters, my favorite thing to wear is boots. There are several on my wishlist, but I already have the basics. So, I decided to do a series on fall boots and styling them with a summer piece to transition them into a fall look.
These wedge booties from Tom's are one of my favorites. Wedges are the only heel that I like to wear. They are comfortable and they go with everything - jeans, dresses, skirts and leggings. Tank tops are a summer staple that you can wear year round. You can easily transition them to fall by adding a sweater or jacket.

What a super cute outfit! Fall is my favorite season (although I can really dress for fall where I live). Love your necklace!

I coveted these shoes all winter last year! I think I may need to pick them up this season! I have been transitioning dresses this month. I can't seem to put away my summer dresses, so I have been layering them and adding tights. Love the cardigan/kimono! Susan
ReplyDeleteSuch a cute look! Red looks gorgeous on you & those booties look so comfy! Have great day Jill:)

A cardigan can make a sundress last longer!

Yay for booties! I have not gotten mine out yet (we're still in the upper 80s and my boots are in the attic, hah) but I am ready. I think boots just make everything look more sophisticated. I definitely still wear my tank tops in the fall - I am so thankful to not have to give them up!
ReplyDeleteLOVE your Stella & Dot necklace! I've been wanting that necklace for forever! And so excited about bootie/boot season! Although it's still really hot here...

Hey! How comfortable are those booties? Considering buying the leopard pair!! Thanks :)
ReplyDeleteKelssey
Hi Kelssey! So comfy! Just like wearing flats! You should give them a try. Those leopard ones are adorable.
DeleteJill
I'm wearing the same necklace right now! I love Toms, but have only tried the flats. I think I need to try the booties next! They are very cute and I'm all about comfortable shoes!
ReplyDeletePolished the dust off mine last week too :X
ReplyDeleteI just bought a pair of wedge booties - love how you styled them. Thanks for the inspiration!
ReplyDeleteLoving those booties! I've only done traditional Toms... I need to branch out!
ReplyDeleteThanks Amanda! They are so comfortable, you should give them a try!

I can't bring myself to wear booties quite yet. Maybe another 2 weeks or so. I wear a lot of loafers and ballets when the weather starts changing. As soon as my sockless feet start to get cold is when I whip out the booties and boots.
ReplyDeletei love this whole look -- especially that necklace. adore!

Hurray for booties! What a great outfit for the start of fall!
ReplyDeleteRed is so your color, btw. Makes you look so fresh. Great booties!
ReplyDeleteI think the thing I loke most about your outfit is your stunning necklace. In a way I'm glad it is bootie season (almost) in Italy), those pedicures are too much work!
ReplyDeleteBooties feel perfect right about now! Happy Thursday, doll!

Ah! I feel so late to the game with all these comments ahead of mine! LOL! I love your pretty cardigan and especially that bright tank! I agree with you on the wedge heels! Stacked heels work for me too :) They're wayyy more comfortable than pumps but to me, look a little nicer than a flat.

Your red top is perfect for your skin tone plus I love the pattern in your cardigan. For me, I tend to change skirts to trousers / jeans and a jacket. Most of my tops I wear all year round.
ReplyDeleteYou shine in that gorgeous red/coral-ish shirt. The floral shirt is a great addition to complete this playful, youthful look.

That cardigan is so colorful and cheery! Love it! And, I have been wanting a pair of Toms wedges/booties for awhile. I just need to make a trip into Nordstrom, so I can try them on first.
ReplyDeleteI love your booties and the floral cardigan. I want some black booties and a pair of brown or burgundy ones for Fall. You look great while being relaxed and cool!
ReplyDeleteI just got a similar pair of booties to yours but mine are Madden Girl, and they're a camel color. Boots are definitely my favorite thing about transitioning into cooler weather and I've accumulated quite a few pairs over the years :)
ReplyDeleteLove those booties! Your necklace completes this look! xo Andrea
