France Recap, Blog Announcement (& TFF Linkup)

Hi everyone! I'm back from France and had the most amazing trip! It was so nice to have a break from my normal routine and spend time with my mom and sister. Special thanks to Shelbee for filling in for me last week! If you missed her guest post, you can read it here. Despite the rain (it literally rained almost every day!), we were able to check off everything on our list. I would love to go back someday to spend more time exploring some of the neighborhoods! I'm going to give you the abbreviated version and share a few of my favorite spots that we visited!

Champagne? Yes please! You know I love a cold glass of bubbly so I was excited when my mom told us we were headed to Reims, the heart of the champagne region, for the Mumm champagne cave cellar tour. We were lead down into the cellars where 25 million bottles of champagne are stored, learned about their process to make champagne and the tour ended with a tasting.

We walked the steep hill (427 feet) up to the Basilica then wandered around Montmartre and ended up down by Moulin Rouge. Montmartre is charming little area and is known for it's artist enclave. In the Place du Tertre, artists set up their easels and will beckon you to allow them to paint your portrait as you walk by.

Claude Monet lived in Giverny for 43 years and his gardens were his source of inspiration for many works of art. His home is now a museum and the gardens have two parts; a flower garden filled with bright patches of flowers and a Japanese inspired water garden.

Notre Dame and the Eiffel Tower were stops earlier in the week but what I really enjoyed was seeing the sites by boat on the Seine.

That's a wrap and now I have some news for you. I've been throwing around the idea of stepping away from blogging for awhile now. Having a complete blog and social media break made me realize that it's time. I want to thank all of you so much for your continued support of my blog over the past 3 1/2 years. I will still be posting daily outfits and home decor on Instagram and Thursday Fashion Files will continue with CarrieI have developed so many great friendships through blogging and hope that we can stay in touch!
