Holiday Home Tour {2019}

Yesterday I took a vacation day from work and joined Laura, Andrea, Katherine, and Caroline in the city. We were guests on Windy City Live and it was so much fun! As audience members, we got to take home season 8 of GOT and Paco Rabanne Invictus men's fragrance. Andrea was the big winner, winning cookware by Candace Cameron Bure! The cookware set was so big she had to buy a suitcase so she could roll it home with her on the train!

I've wanted to show you my holiday home tour for a few weeks, but with it getting dark so early, my window for having natural light in my home to take photos has been limited.  I was going to put it off yet another week because I wanted to retake several shots but decided to go with what I had (try to ignore the wires, shoes, and unlit garland). I hope you enjoy this photo loaded post!

We'll start with our family room. This is the coziest space in our home and where we spend most of our time, especially in the winter, because it has a wood-burning fireplace. We picked out our real tree when our daughter was home Thanksgiving weekend. There's nothing better than the smell of a real Christmas tree! It's decorated with our random collection of ornaments we have acquired over the years. Growing up, my parents gave me an ornament every year for Christmas, and we have carried on the tradition with our daughter!

Next up is our breakfast nook. I've had these chili pepper lights and the metal Ho Ho Ho sign for years. Our kitchen is too small to decorate, but I do have a vintage Mistletoe Bear cookie jar from Marshall Fields. No photo, though, #bloggerfail. I'll add it to my Insta stories later today!

Moving on to the dining room. I swapped out a holiday canvas for the art that is usually above our sideboard. I hung a birch branch from the ceiling and hung hand-made pom-pom hat ornaments. I set up a hot chocolate station with my vintage Santa mug set.

Finally, the living room, which used to be our family room (you can see my room swap post here). The tree is artificial, and I decorated it with ribbon, vintage-style, and hand-made ornaments.
