Ipsy Glam Bag Review – July 2015

It’s time for my monthly review of the Ipsy Glam Bag. If you aren’t familiar with Ipsy, it’s is a monthly beauty and makeup subscription where you get five full or deluxe size samples of a variety of products and a cute makeup bag all for $10! You never know what you’ll get and I’ve been lucky to receive a great selection of products almost every month so far. This month’s theme was Summer Lovin’ and the products came in a cute ikat print bag. Here’s what was inside this month:

Nicka K New York HQ Quad Eyeshadow

This full-size eye-shadow quad retails for $4.99. This palette of versatile neutral shades felt velvety and was richly pigmented. It applied smoothly and had staying power (I primed with Urban Decay eye-shadow primer).

Verdict:

Teeez Cosmetics Read My Lips Lipstick

I loved the fun skull motif and the fonts on the packaging of this product. The Killing Me Softly shade was said to be a light red but it was more of a bright coral. It applied smoothly and my lips felt hydrated but the color was not for me and gave me a washed out look.
Verdict:

Eva NYC Freshen Up Dry Shampoo

This dry shampoo is aluminum free and had a fresh scent. It worked as promised. There was no residue and it gave my hair a little volume and the instant refresh needed in the summer heat. The retail price of the full size product is $24 and Ipsy was offering a 65% off coupon which would bring it down to $8.40. I love the Bastie dry shampoo for $5.99 so I think I would use this as a backup.
Verdict:

pūr~lisse pur-bright ultra skin brightening serum

I loved the pur~lisse cleanser that I received in my March Ipsy Bag and was excited to try their serum. This serum brightens your skin tone and helps to prevent future damage. I used this before my moisturizer and loved how it made my skin feel. The retail price for the full size product is $76 and Ipsy is offering a 20% off coupon. It’s pricey but if you are looking for something to help reduce sun damage it might be worth trying.

Verdict:

City Color Cosmetics HD Powder

This finishing powder sets your makeup with a smooth matte finish and helps prevent shine. It blurred fine lines and gave me a soft glow. It’s affordable with a retail price of $5.99.

Verdict:
