Summer Staples
Bright shorts have always been my summer staple (see my post here), but lately, I’ve been drawn to printed shorts. If you weren’t sure what to wear with them, today I’m styling a simple summer look with my printed shorts. They will make your most basic top look great, and they give your outfit a breezy summer vibe.
I Won My Printed Shorts
Luck was on my side when I recently won two separate giveaways from my favorite Canadian bloggers, Deena and Shaunacy. Deena picked out some gorgeous dresses she wanted me to buy with the gift card I won in her post here. What I decided on, though, was to add some fun printed shorts to my closet. With the extra PayPal cash I won from Shaunacy, I was excited to shop and ended up picking out this outfit.
These muted grey leaf printed shorts are soft, fluid, and comfortable to wear. I love the pockets and tassel drawstring! Instead of styling the shorts with a solid top, I came across this pretty lace block tee. The feminine lace detail on the neckline and arms adds interest without competing with the shorts. I can see these being styled with a flowy button-down top, dressed up with a blazer or down with a graphic tee. My goal was to purchase a complete outfit. Mission accomplished!
