What’s a Shacket?

There’s a new layer that’s taking over as a fall trend, the shacket! What is a shacket, you ask? It’s basically an oversized shirt jacket, looks like a shirt, but you layer it as a jacket, and it’s everywhere right now. They’re so stylish, shacket’s are perfect for those fall days when you don’t know what the weather will do and need a layer to throw on and go. Read on for tips on how to wear a shacket.

Try wearing a shacket over a slip dress for a glam date night look or with a turtleneck and combat boots for that cool-girl effect. I think they’d be perfect with a pair of faux leather leggings. You don’t have to wear your shacket as a layer, either. They look just as chic buttoned up as a shirt. They look great belted too! When winter arrives, they’re light enough to be worn under your winter coat, and in the spring would look super cute with a tee and a pair of shorts.

Shimmer Shirt Jacket

Most of the shackets I’ve seen have been plaid flannel or corduroy, which give off all the cozy vibes. So when I came across this shimmery lavender number on clearance at Anthropologie, I immediately bought it. The shimmery soft fabric gives off a luxe vibe and is a great piece to take you from day to night. We were blessed with summer weather this week, with temps in the 70’s. For today’s look, I kept it simple and layered over a tank top with the olive pants I got in last Stitch Fix and some lug sole wedge booties.
