Slip Dress Outfits: 4 Spring Transition Looks

Ah, the slip dress. A classic wardrobe staple that is as much timeless as it is versatile. You can wear it alone for a minimalist look or dress it up or down for a fun and flirty vibe. A slip dress is one of the few dresses that give you styling options to wear all year long. If you’re wondering what to wear with a slip dress, I’m sharing four spring transition slip dress outfits today.

My slip dress is from Target and comes in multiple color options. It’s also currently on sale for under $18! The best feature of this dress is the wide straps. It’s bra-friendly, so you don’t have to fuss with a strapless bra. But there’s no need to wait for warmer weather to wear your slip dress. Layering is the name of the game, allowing you to create a look that’s uniquely your own. To give you some styling ideas, here are four looks styled for when it’s still cold outside.

How To Style Your Slip Dress

Contrasted with a Structured Jacket

I love the juxtaposition between the feminine blue dress, a black moto jacket, and Chelsea boots. This would be a fun date night outfit. If you don’t like Chelsea boots, try a more streamlined sock bootie.

Casually with Sneakers

Sneakers are not just reserved for jeans, leggings, and joggers. Pairing them with a slip dress is always a no-fail combo. It’s effortless and gives a sporty vibe. I layered a tee underneath and topped it with a jean jacket to stay warm.

Business Casual for Work

You can easily tone down the low neckline by layering a fitted turtleneck underneath. Opt for a tall boot in a neutral color to cover your legs and anchor the look.

Layered with a Pullover Sweater

Instead of layering underneath your slip dress, experiment with layering over it. Add a thin belt over the top to blouse a sweater, then pull it out until it is no longer visible.
