I chose to layer my plaid blazer over my black midi dress because that’s what I already had in my closet. But, if you are shopping for something similar, try it with a complementary color in a rich brown, warm rust, or deep green. I opted for sock booties for this outfit, but it would look equally great with suede pumps, heeled loafers, or tall boots. Another afterthought: add a belt to cinch the blazer at the waist for a more tailored appearance, as I did here.

For those laid-back days when you want to look cool without sacrificing comfort, this plaid blazer outfit with jeans and a hoodie combo is your go-to. It’s all about achieving that laid-back, borrowed-from-the-boys look. I slipped into my favorite pair of slouchy wide-leg jeans, but a classic pair of skinny or straight jeans would also work. My hoodie is lightweight, making it easy to layer for that casual-cool vibe. I finished off the look with my favorite pair of high-top sneakers.
3. Plaid Blazer with Neutral Wide-Leg Pants and a Graphic Tee: Business Meets Casual
For a look that seamlessly blends business with a lot of casual, consider pairing your plaid blazer with neutral wide-leg pants and a graphic tee. Here, the blazer is your statement piece, and I picked neutral-colored pants for a nice contrast against the plaid. There are so many fun options for wide-leg pants right now, but this look would work with regular trousers as well. The graphic tee gives this look a pop of personality. Band tees, quotes, iconic images – any graphic tee will do. Wedge booties in a warm fall tone balanced out the look.
