How to Wear the Crochet Trend this Summer

Crochet is one of the season’s biggest trends, and it’s more wearable than ever. Whether you’re heading out for brunch, spending the day in the city, or hosting a night in with friends, the crochet trend can work beautifully at any age. The key to how to wear the crochet trend? Choosing pieces that feel effortless, breathable, and easy to style.

If you’re wondering how to wear the crochet trend without it feeling too boho or too bare, these four outfit ideas are here to help. I styled each look around a crochet or embroidered top from Charlie B, a Canadian-based brand that delivers feminine, versatile pieces perfect for summer. Their designs are made with comfort in mind and always include fun details that make your outfit feel just a little more special.

1. Crochet Cap Sleeve Top

For a full day on your feet, comfort is key, but so is feeling put together. This multicolor crochet cap sleeve top is lightweight and breathable. I styled it with denim shorts, platform sneakers, and a black quilted sling bag for an easygoing look that’s functional and fun.

Alternative styling idea: Dress it up a bit with cropped white jeans and flat leather sandals, or wear it with a midi skirt and add a belt to define the waist.

2. Floral Crochet Pullover

Hosting at home calls for something relaxed but elevated. This floral crochet pullover is one of those pieces that instantly makes a statement. I paired it with wide-leg drawstring linen blend pants and espadrille wedges for a breezy, pulled-together vibe that feels special without putting in too much effort.

Alternative styling idea: Swap the linen pants for ankle-length jeans and slip-on mules for a more polished take, or layer it over a simple tank dress for a laid-back weekend look.

3. Short-Sleeve Crochet Cardigan

This short-sleeve crochet cardigan is such a sweet layering piece. I wore it buttoned up as a top over a nude cami and an ecru denim skirt, paired with low block-heel slides. A woven shoulder bag and gold jewelry finished the look. The open-weave crochet adds great texture and keeps the outfit feeling light and summery.

Alternative styling idea: Unbutton the cardigan and wear it open over a neutral tank with high-rise jeans or shorts. You could also layer it over a sleeveless dress for an added pop of texture.

4. Cotton-Linen Embroidered Blouse

Crochet doesn’t always have to mean open weave. This cotton-linen blouse with embroidered sleeves is a perfect example of how to wear the crochet trend in a more refined way. I styled it with high-rise white wide-leg denim and raffia sandals for a date night outfit that feels breezy and romantic.

Alternative styling idea: For a more dressed-up take, pair it with a flowy midi skirt and strappy sandals. Add a statement clutch and you’re ready for rooftop cocktails or a summer concert.

If you’ve been hesitant about how to wear the crochet trend, these outfits show just how versatile (and flattering) crochet can be. Don’t forget you can use my code DOUSEDINPINK10 to get 10% off your Charlie B order.

  6. These are all fabulous! Gosh it's so funny how they remind me of sweaters I used to wear in high school. Fashion trends really do come back around and now I'm wishing I had saved some of those! I saw the most lovely crochet dress in the store the other day and was so tempted to try it on but I am trying so hard to not buy anything new right now.

  7. My youngest has quite a few crochet tops and loves them.

I like the first outfit best but love them all on you!

  10. Mireille

Because my crochet pieces (apart from my vest) are long sleeves, I typically wear mine in spring and fall. I do love that short sleeve top though!
