Don’t you hate it when one of your favorite beauty products is discontinued, and you have to search everywhere to stock up before it’s gone forever? More and more brands have turned to customized beauty, so you don’t have to worry about that or waste money trying to find a product that works. Today I wanted to share my Formulate personalized haircare review. My color-treated hair is baby fine, a little frizzy, and lacks volume. When Formulate reached out to me and offered to create a shampoo and conditioner that would address all of my hair needs, I jumped on board!
How Formulate works:
Formulate directs you to their website, where you take a quiz that asks everything from your hair type to hair goals, styling, product use, activity, and environment. You even select your scent! From there, their hair wizard determines the current state of your hair, and then they match all of the environment, product, and lifestyle factors with ingredients they know to be effective. Formulate chemists will create a custom formula and ship it off to you. All ingredients are 100% sulfate-free, sodium-free, paraben-free, and animal cruelty-free, and they don’t use any substitutions. If there are specific ingredients you are concerned with, just let them know! The goals for my hair were color protection, anti-frizz, volume, and hydration.
My Results:
The first time I shampooed and conditioned with Formulate, I saw an immediate difference in my hair’s texture. It was softer and glossier. After using it consistently for a few more weeks, I noticed more shine and less frizz. Formulate will make adjustments based on your feedback, and my rep checked in with me periodically to ensure the formula was meeting my needs. I asked if they could alter the formula for more volume, and within a week, I had an updated shampoo and conditioner to try!
Biggest Impact:
My hair tangles easily when it gets wet, and I dread combing it out after I shower or get out of the pool. The most significant result from switching to Formulate is that my hairbrush glides through my hair now, even when it’s saturated with chlorine from the pool!
