Breakfast Smoothie for Energy

The Power-Packed Ingredients:

1. One Cup Fresh Squeezed Orange Juice

Packed with vitamin C, antioxidants, and natural sugars, oranges are renowned for their ability to elevate energy levels. Vitamin C enhances immune function, while the natural sugars provide a quick energy spike without the crash that often accompanies refined sugars.

2. One Cup Spinach

Don’t let the vibrant green color fool you – spinach is a powerhouse of nutrients. Loaded with iron, magnesium, and vitamins A, C, D and K, spinach contributes to improved blood circulation and helps combat fatigue. The high fiber content aids digestion, ensuring a steady release of energy throughout the day.

3. One Banana

Bananas, often referred to as nature’s energy bars, are an excellent source of natural sugars, potassium, and vitamin B6. These nutrients are essential for maintaining electrolyte balance, supporting muscle function, and converting food into energy. The sweetness of bananas contrasted with the tanginess of orange juice, creates a well-rounded flavor in the energy-boosting elixir.

4. 1/2 Avocado

Introduce creaminess and healthy fats to your smoothie with the addition of avocado. Rich in monounsaturated fats, avocados contribute to sustained energy by providing a slow-burning fuel source. The presence of vitamins E, K, and B-complex further enhances the nutritional profile. Avocado’s smooth texture complements the other ingredients, creating a velvety consistency that’s both satisfying and energizing.

5. Collagen Peptides

I like to add two scoops of collagen peptides to my smoothies. Known for promoting skin elasticity and joint health, collagen is also a valuable protein source. The neutral flavor of collagen makes it an ideal addition without compromising the taste.

6. Ice Cubes

Don’t forget to add a handful of ice cubes to make the smoothie ice cold.

How to Make an Energy-Boosting Smoothie

  • Peel and chop the bananas.
  • Scoop out the avocado flesh.
  • Combine all the ingredients in a blender.
  • Blend until smooth and creamy.

Enjoy!

Not a fan of orange juice? Swap out the orange juice for coconut water. If you like your energy smoothie to be extra cold, cut up your ripe bananas and freeze them so they’re prepped and handy, and drink through a stainless steel straw. This smoothie is also great for a mid-morning or mid-day snack!
