April Style Challenge – Week 3

Wrapping up week 3 of the April Style Confessions Challenge that is being hosted by Sequins & Style and That’s So Crystal. So far I have honored my commitment of not purchasing anything new. I have not had the desire to shop and have been having fun creating outfits by shopping my own closet. I continue to be surprised at the different ways I can style an outfit using the daily theme from the challenge.

Monogram Monday

It went from 70 degrees on Sunday to about 35 degrees and snow on Monday.  I wanted to be warm and comfortable so I wore my initial sweater with leggings.  It’s April, so I am banning winter boots until at least November but it gave me another chance to wear my Hunter wellies.

Sweater:  Old Navy

Top: Nordstrom/Similar

Leggings:Hue – Nordstrom

Boots:Hunter – Piperlime

Bring on the Brights

This is a combo that I would normally not have put together without thinking about brights.  I bought the blue sweater to go with a dress and never wore it with anything else.  I would definitely wear this outfit again.

Sweater: Gap/Similar

Top:Similar

Jeans: AG Stevie – Anthropologie

Necklace: Stella & Dot

Boots: Sam Edelman: Penny – Nordstrom

Beg, Borrow or Second Handed

I love the look of maxi skirts and dresses.  They are as comfortable as yoga pants and you can dress them up or down.  This is actually a dress that I wore a tee over.  Instead of flats, I wore my converse to keep it casual.

Dress:  Cabi: Thrifted/Similar

Tee: Similar

Jacket:  Old Navy

Shoes: Converse – Nordstrom

Blinded by the White Top

This was my favorite outfit this week.  Simple and fun.  Done.

Top: Nordstrom

Garden Party

I was initially thinking of wearing a sundress but it was not warm enough so I started looking through my tops.  I don’t have much floral and have not worn this one in a few years.  I really like it with the white jeans and would wear this again.

Jeans: Gap

Flip flops: JCrew

I am really having fun using this challenge as a closet remix. This has helped me be more creative and I have not had any “I have nothing to wear” moments.  Only one more week to go!
