White Jeans Fall Outfit Then and Now

When it comes to following fashion rules, there’s been one that I annually throw out the window — banning white jeans after Labor Day. White jeans are not only a staple transition piece in my Fall wardrobe, but they are also a great option to have when you’re tired of throwing the same blue denim on in the colder months. Today, I’m going to show you how to style a fall outfit with white jeans.

I’ve been a proponent of white jeans for what seems like forever, but how I style them has dramatically changed over the past few years. If we hop in a time machine and go back almost a decade to when I first started my blog, my white jean-styling ideas are entirely different from what I would pick out for myself today.

Fall Outfits with White Jeans Then and Now

White Denim 2014

Going back to 2014, all I want to think about this fall outfit with white jeans is “no, no and no.” From the low-rise, stark-white skinny jeans to the patent leather Sperrys, what was I thinking?

Statement jewelry also held its place on the fashion podium for quite some time, and I didn’t hold back with my coral-red statement necklace I paired with a gingham button-up. I’m sure we’ve all put a similar outfit on, and I’m almost positive 2014 Pinterest was filled with the same look catalog.

However, I think it is safe to say that I would take a different approach to styling a trendy white pair of jeans today for fall time. Let’s take a look at how I style an aesthetic white jean outfit in 2023.

White Denim Restyled 2023

Present-day trends emphasize minimalism and dainty details this fall season. As you can see, I’ve opted for an all-neutral color palette for this look from head-to-toe.

Rather than choosing a super bright pair of jeans (ones that are bound to get ruined, also!) — grab your favorite pair of skinny jeans in an off-white or ivory color. This pair is becoming one of my favorite go-to options in my wardrobe because of its versatility.

Foregoing the busy gingham patterned button up from years ago, I chose to pair my white jeans with this cute sweater top from Chico’s. I love the black textured detailing on the sleeves that elevates this shirt from basic to not your average sweater tee.

Thankfully, I’ve retired the boat shoes for nude suede booties. Who doesn’t love a good pair of nude booties? This pair is super versatile, and I’ve found myself reaching for them much more lately.

When it comes to accessories, instead of going for bold, adding a simple hat like a fedora and a shoulder bag can tie your look together for a day out. Choosing dainty jewelry over chunky, statement pieces can elevate your look for a casually glamorous fall fit.
