Saturday evening will mark the end of the first week of our governor’s stay at home order.Β As I mentioned in Tuesday’s post, I’ve worked from home for the last 15 years. You would think I’d be used to being homebound, but it’s been a hard week. And to dampen the mood, literally, the weather forecast is rain through Sunday. We still have a ton of projects to complete inside the house that will keep us busy, but getting out for a daily walk is the one thing that clears my head and keeps me sane.Β
Β
Anyway, back to working from home. One of the questions I get again and again is what to wear when you work from home. It’s easy to fall into a pajama/sweat pants type of uniform. One of my tips in Tuesday’s post is to make sure you get dressed every day. It’s something that I’ve always done, and studies show that getting ready not only boosts your mood and self-confidence, but it also helps you be more productive too. You don’t have to stick to the office dress code but find a happy balance between professional and comfortable. You’ll feel more confident, and that will come across in your IMs, emails, and in your voice on conference calls. My work from home formula is business on top and comfy on the bottom.Β
Β
So, today I wanted to share a week’s worth of work from home outfits to give you some ideas of what to wear when you work from homet5y6! I always add a few layered necklaces and a fun pair of earrings, so I’m put together for any video conferences. And, on my feet, you’ll usually find slippers, sneakers, or mules.

These are all great ideas, and I love how you look so cute yet comfortable at the same time. I love those cute cropped jeans!
So many great outfits, Jill! I work from home also and my footwear is usually slippers even with a really cute outfit. Haha. But for some reason with the kids home, I havenβt been getting dressed at all and I am feeling the negative effects of that on my mood. We are coming to the end of week 2 of staying at home and I guess I kind of viewed it as a vacation these first 2 weeks and took advantage of not getting myself ready and dressed for the day while I was getting the kids ready for the day. On Monday, I need to get back to regular living and getting dressed!

These are such great, practical and comfy outfits. I usually work remotely a few times a week anyway, so the biggest change for me is doing it more and having longer hours because of other departments being closed. Take care, Madison xo

When I worked at home I did get dressed every day, but not nearly as nicely as you do (and definitely slippers or just socks in the summer). I didn’t have to worry about video conferences back then, though. I can’t even imagine staying in PJs all day though I’m sure it’s wonderfully relaxing and maybe should be given a try once or twice. I love your relaxed looks – still dressy enough for videos but so comfy. Right now I’m still going into the office but it’s pretty quiet except for my area (which is pretty much just me. There are only 3-4 of us there right now anyway and it’s a 10,000 sf building). I’d love a little more time at home to dig into my closet to do some weeding, but I think I need a whole week off to take care of that project :/ Thank you so much for the linkup and stay healthy!

Such a great tip, Jill. I agree, we need to act as “normal” as possible and getting dressed every day really helps! Your outfits are all super cute and comfy. I love those bells!! Groovy, man. π

Hi, Jill – I love outfit inspo; it’s always nice to get more! That’s because I like to wear something different all the time. Lately I’ve been wearing kurtas with skinny jeans and clogs. I have a collection of kurtas in probably ten colors. They are gauzy so I wear them with a camisole under now and just a bra (maybe a lace bralette) to stay cool when the weather is warmer. Thanks for sharing more ideas for my collection! – Angie, http://www.yourtrueselfblog.com
