Pattern

When you are faced with a white room, it can be nerve-wracking to decide if you want to have a color or some sort of pattern on the walls. In recent years, design trends have embraced both bold and subtle patterns. Rather than go all out with color, have some patterns, with some splashes of color.

Collectibles

It might be figurines, it could berare books. Whatever it is, you can bring it into focus by having them arranged on an accent table instead of being tucked away on bookshelves or in cabinets. Don’t put everything on display, pick your favorite pieces, or even the ones that all tie in by color.

Walls

We are used to seeing either an accent wall in a bold color or walls adorned with art but less used to seeing the whole wall as the art. It is becoming more commonplace to have wallpaper or murals. Not only do they look stunning, but you can pick more subtle or super bold and still have it tie in with your furniture and decor.

Mixed Textures

Mixing modern metals like cast iron, steel, and brass with softer woods can create a timeless space. You can also mix traditional with modern pieces. Keep a delicate balance and not go too much in either direction.

Nature

Bring the outside in with potted plants, indoor trees, or even beached wood. They all bring a soft and natural feel into space that is calming and relaxing.

Comfort

If a piece of furniture looks stunning but isn’t comfortable, you’ll never use it. Comfort should be a critical factor in all of your interior design endeavors.
